Keraring -
Femto-laser assited intracorneal incision

Kerarings are intracorneal ring segments (ICRS) for treating irregular astigmatisms due to keratokonus or keratotorus (PMD).

This corneal disease will cause the normally “spherical” curvature of the cornea to become “conical”. In an advanced stage, the cornea will become thinner and thinner and your vision will deteriorate.

In many cases, a keraring implantation with the femtosecond laser will be able to treat this disease even at advanced stages. In general, the implants will enable a geometric normalisation of the cornea and therefore a more stable vision.

The latest generation of the ring segments distinguish themselves through a high product variety, optimised geometry and in particular ingenious calculations which are not carried out by standardised algorithms but experienced experts.
The prism geometry of the kerarings are extremely successful at preventing patients from perceiving any scattering and ensure the optimal effect of the implant in the cornea.
