Surgical procedure
Eye laser surgery and lens implants are both pain-free. You will be given eye drops as local anaesthesia.
Please do not wear make-up on the day of the operation. We will be happy to answer any further questions and concerns before the operation and will provide you with an information sheet on how to proceed after the operation. In addition, you will receive the mobile phone number of your surgeon. If you want to, you can take a sedative before the operation. Your stay in our practice will take about one and a half hours; the operation itself will however only take a few minutes.
For Femto LASIK surgery, we will start by creating the flap. During this, you may experience a slight feeling of pressure. The subsequent treatment with the excimer laser is pain-free and takes 1.4 seconds per dioptre.
Both eyes will be operated simultaneously on the same day
Lens surgery is also pain-free. The procedure takes only about 15 minutes per eye. Either both eyes can be operated on the same day or one after the other with a few days in between. The first follow-up will take place on the day after the operation. For the day of the surgery, we recommend to bring along sunglasses, as the eyes may be sensitive to light after the operation.
